Nowadays, is very frequent that monitors are widescreen, but I don’t really get the point of that. I think that monitor designers got their inspiration from TV’s. Widescreen is useful if you are watching a movie. Even the old CRT monitors’ aspect ratios were 4:3, which is technically a widescreen.
